The Doyle Vineyard Management Story
In 2009, as a major Finger Lakes winery closed its vineyard operations, Matt was faced with unemployment —and with his wife Carre six months pregnant with their fourth child, the stakes were high. Rather than leave the region for a more secure job out West, the Doyles chose to stay and invest locally. From here, Doyle Vineyard Management was born.
They secured a half-million-dollar loan to purchase struggling vineyards and help save an industry in decline. It was a bold leap of faith—but within weeks, the vineyards were thriving again under Matt’s care.
Today, Doyle Vineyard Management oversees more than 900 acres, partnering with over 70 wineries and landowners. Nestled in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes wine country, the Doyle’s have now been farming these hillsides for over 20 years. Their journey, rooted in integrity, hard work, and commitment to their clients continues to shape everything they do.
After years of planting and caring for the vineyards alongside the Cuthbert family, The Doyle’s proudly purchased Quarry Ridge Winery in 2025 and are honored to carry forward their legacy of producing some of the finest wines in the Finger Lakes.
With vineyard sites across some of the most promising terroirs in the region, including the stunning slopes of Keuka Lake and the growing “banana” belt vineyards above Seneca Lake, Quarry Ridge Winery was the next step in expanding the Doyle family business.
We believe great wine starts in the vineyard. That’s why we focus on sustainable practices, hand-tended vines, and varietals that thrive in our cool-climate soils — from bright, mineral-driven Rieslings to expressive Cabernet Franc and elegant Chardonnay. Quarry Ridge Winery became a natural extension of our vineyards – crafting excellent wines from excellent grapes!
At its heart, Quarry Ridge Winery is a family operation — guided by tradition, driven by quality, and inspired by the land we love. Every bottle we produce is a reflection of that legacy, made to share with those who appreciate authenticity, character, and the quiet strength of a family farm.
Matt and Carre Doyle
OWNERS
Having been raised in the heart of the Finger Lakes grape growing region and within a family committed to the wine industry, Matt’s love of vineyards began as a young child. Matt pursued his passion in vineyard management at Cornell University, earning a degree in Agribusiness Management and Economics. He went on to serve at Constellation Wines US as their East Coast Vineyard Manager prior to starting Doyle Vineyard Management in 2009.
Entrepreneurs at heart, Matt and Carre now successfully manage Doyle Vineyard Management, Gather Finger Lakes and Quarry Ridge Winery.
Married for over 20 years, Matt and Carre are blessed with four children: Jacob, Gabrielle, Zachary and Noah. They reside on Keuka Lake, NY with their two Labrador retrievers Katie and Tucker! In the far and few breaks of work and parenting, Matt and Carre enjoy hiking, boating and snow skiing.
